Arley Kemmerer will be hosting another DC-ChiX women’s clinic on the DCCX course on Saturday, October 23rd!
Kemmerer, the 2009 DCCX champion, is reprising her women’s only clinic, DC-ChiX, on Saturday Oct 23rd at 2 p.m. at the race venue, the Armed Forces Retirement Home. The ~2 hour clinic will give women of all abilities a chance to practice cyclocross skills and get tips from a top racer on how to handle the course’s various features. No pre-registration is required and attendance is free. Participants may pick up their race packet on site and newbies can even register to race after the clinic (women only).
The Oct 23rd DC-ChiX clinic is held on the DCCX race course on the grounds of the AFRH.
The Armed Forces Retirement Home is located at Rock Creek Church Rd, NW & Upshur St, NW, Washington, DC 20011
North of DC: I-95 S to I-495 W. Exit 31 (Georgia Ave) towards Silver Spring. Pass Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Turn left on Upshur St (just after 4200 block of Georgia Ave). Cross Rock Creek Church Rd into the AFRH-W “Eagle Gate” at Upshur Ave NW.
South of DC: I-95 N to I-395, stay on to end at New York Ave. Right on New York Ave. Go two blocks and turn right onto M St. Left at second light onto N. Capitol St. NW. Continue past the sign to the Armed Forces Retirement Home. Left onto Allison St. Left onto Rock Creek Church Rd, and left into the AFRH-W “Eagle Gate” at Upshur Ave NW.

Arley will give an overview of various aspects of CX, with tips for the woman racer.
All levels of riders are welcome
First timers are encouraged. All you need is a bike with knobby tires and a desire to learn.
Clinics start promptly at 6:00 pm at the Fort Reno Park bandstand.
Please arrive early to register
This is a USA Cycling non-competitive event.

return of its annual Wednesday night series of cyclocross clinics at Fort
Reno Park in NW Washington DC.

Sept. 1st- Mike Birner/Mid-Maryland Coaching- CX ‘crash course’ – all the
basics of cyclocross. Everything you’ll need to know for your first race.
Sept. 8th- Marc Gwadz/DCMTB- breaking down some CX skills – dealing with
barriers, cornering, and more.
Sept . 15th- Wes Schempf/ C3 finding and keeping speed on the course.
Sept. 22nd- Arley Kemmerer DC-ChiX women only. Arley will focus all
aspects of CX, with tips for the woman racer.
